  • amdgpu issues with randr?

    Hi folks,

are there known issues with amdgpu and randr extension?
Whenever I use xrandr to disable my laptop´s screen when the external HDMI is connected, X gets killed and SDDM pops up.

It´s this command I use: xrandr --output HDMI-A-0 --mode 1920x1080 --primary --output eDP --off

RandR 1.2 is enabled according to Xorg.log

Maybe due to immature Raven Ridge support in amdgpu (I use a mobile Rizen 5 APU) ?

    Possible problems:
    - non rolling OS with partially implemented point release drivers
    - buggy and never ready ssdm and kde desktop

Solution: use my distribution or equivalent OS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKJ-IatUfis

Can you try just one output at a time and see what happens?
      Code:
xrandr --output HDMI-A-0 --mode 1920x1080 --primary
      xrandr --output eDP --off
Also, what kernel version are you running? Anything below 4.16-rc* will give you random lockups and kernel panics.
