    Meanwhile, still no ULMB support under Linux. What's worse, nobody seems to care? :-/

        FreeSync/G-Sync is all the rage these days and you can't use ULMB with G-Sync. So...

          Excellent, we need good HDR support. I hope Rec. 2020 will be supported soon.

          Unfortunately no LCD monitors are able to display HDR without cheating (local dimming, which introduces high local color variations).

                    OLED surely can, but not "quantum dot"(QLED); which is just a fancy name for the latest filters Samsung puts on their LCD panels.
