This is not true, at least not for Germany. Tax is 19 %.
    RX 480 4 GB - 200 €
    RX 480 8 GB - 245 €
    GTX 1060 3 GB - 205 €
    GTX 1060 6 GB - 260 €

    Source below.

The 1060 3G is not recommendable because of its castration (less ALUs, small memory).

Install on Fedora 25 is either broken or complicated. The worst experience I've ever ran across. We need a easy solution à la Windows or like Feral proposed.

Considering Stable is released year and half ago and month before Windows 10 , it is has fairly recent mesa available 12.0.4 against llvm 3.8 in backports, amdgpu combo is also there... Also, it has fglrx easy to install since it is compatible as x/kernel/gcc is old enough

With that, basically only very recent Polaris hardware might be a big prob or daily gamers, but that is "a prob" always & anywhere

Once we are in february 2017. i would start recommending install of next beta Debian 9 Stable for those who can't run current 8 one, so don't worry be happy

What you are talking about, you have same combo like on stable (mesa and llvm) in testing too .

Yeah, i recommend running sid or testing for people with very recent hardware... but on average, after 6-12 months after i don't.

If your hardware is year+ old or you know drivers are in good shape already, why you should roll non stop with everything if you are not developer - there is no reason for it

You can recommend that to Ubuntu user, not for Debian

The blame comes straight from the retailers milking the price by charging more than manufacturers suggested price.
AMD actually gained market share on second quarter of 2016 according to Jon Peddie Research. The company knew a mere loss of 0.8% in Q3 despite lacking a high end graphic cards compared to Nvidia 2.2% market share with all combined graphic cards including high end GPU(http://jonpeddie.com/publications/market_watch/).

It depends how you install the system like Fedora 25. Without the details of information considering your knowledge, it is hard to help.
In reality, majority of casual users relied on their friends or venders to set up their system. Installing Microsoft Windows from scratch is actually challenging by looking for drivers for optimization, majority of the process is already done by retailers and hardware manufacturers hence preinstalled.
