  • lowering power target -- not an April Fool's joke

    Hi,

I am presuming this is not easily achievable in Linux (without going into the Bios for instance):

Toms Hardware in Germany built a htpc with a 970 and avoided the case fan by lowering the power target (http://www.tomshardware.de/htpc-gtx9...-241708-3.html) - does the nvidia driver in linux have the features?
How else could this be achieved?

    thx

Would also like to know if/how this is possible in Linux! Found this here on reddit:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gamin..._overclocking/
    nvidia-smi -i 0 -q -d POWER
    sudo nvidia-smi -pl $WATTS

but I presume this only works with the professional cards/TitanX as the driver enabled boost frequncies only work with those. Will try out in the next days!
