The best thing about 690 is its silent. I think evga's part quality also have credit for this. It is silent and yet is on the same arena as a 680 in terms of performance. I did an upgrade from gts450 to this card (evga supersuperclocked) and didn't have to change my 500 watt psu, which I've been using for 5 years now..
