Today I've been playing with bumblebee(optimus support soft) on my notebook(without optimus) trying to check out something. After installation I've got the combo of nvidia display driver with mesa software rasterizer(checked with glxinfo, glxgears working) while I've been trying to get the opposite result. So my idea was to check if is it be possible to setup open and closed source drivers hybrid so nouveau would control display configuration while 3D acceleration would be supported by proprietaries.
Why? Nvidia ain't going anywhere near supporting randr and their driver doesn't support live output changes nor the desktop scaling while nouveau still isn't a speed demon and for example on my NVC1/420M acceleration still doesn't work at all.
What are your thoughts about this? Does the test prove anything in this matter?
Btw - yes I bricked the system after all - so do it only on test system unless u know how to revieve acceleration and purge completely bumblebee services.
