  • nvidia drivers on asus 1215n

Hey, I have the new asus eeep 1215n running with ubuntu 10.10. It's all working but i can't install the nvidia drivers. It seems there is a problem with the nvidia drivers and the default driver nouveau. Someone knows how to fix it?

    Thanks.

Are you really running nouveau not intel on it? I thought it was optimus. Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log - with Optimus the max you can do would be to disable the nv chip.

I said about nouveau because this is what i understand reading the web but I don't know if is this driver what is runnung in my computer. When i try to install the nvidia driver with the assistant the screen doesn't start after reboot and i have to enter in save mode to inabilitate it. And if i try to install the drivers manually (downloaded from nvidia web) the installer tell me that it can't install the driver because of a problem.

PD: excuse me for my poor english.

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.

I have recently purchased one Asus EEE PC 1215 N which is new version .I could say for sure that it is the best notebook available in the market. It has the Nvidia ION 2 PU with new technology so that we can switch between Integrated intel graphics and Nvidia graphics. The best aspect of the notebook is that the Hd video content has awesome clarity and picture effect. It is also very cute and thin with matte lid and palm rest. A best buy for sure.
