Looking forward to the day nobody cares about NVIDIA blob releases, just as nobody cares about AMDVLK releases.

Support for GeForce 400 (14yo Fermi) only ceased 2 years ago. That's long enough for me, Idk how much better the community does once AMD or Intel drops support.
Both AMD and Intel have open source drivers, after they drops support driver works like before and, unlike NVIDIA, there is no need to patch it for newer kernel or X.Org Server.

I have old Macbook with NVIDIA Tesla GPU. Pretty old but it’s solid machine and with lightweight Linux is still capable of doing non heavy stuff like browsing net, handling emails, writing documents etc. NVIDIA drivers dropped support for Tesla generation years ago (in 2019 I think) and while in theory you can install them, I wasn’t able to do that. It works with Nouveau drivers and while the GPU performance is pretty bad, it’s enough for running desktop comfortably and, unlike NVIDIA drivers, it works with modern kernel and X.Org. It can even run Wayland desktops.
