    1. Nowadays Nouveau drivers on Kepler work quite well after applying re-clocking boot parameters
    Code:
    nouveau.config=NvClkMode=15,NvBoost=2,NvPmEnableGating=2
    2. Screen sharing/recording on GNOME Wayland is currently broken (but works with KWin & wlroots).

      I thought about getting a NV7xx card for a display on an IGPU-less host but IIRC none could even drive a 4k 30/60 Hz HDMI/DP display or two so it was a non-starter for me.

      I'd like a basic single slot cheap GPU that does 4kx60 dual monitor output and has basic modern architecture GL/CL/DX graphics & compute so I could use it for host or pass-through but apparently I've got to aim higher than the GF7x. The ARC3/5 or maybe some of the RX6xxx cards or RTX3050/60 could work but some of those get rather big / expensive.

        I'm skipping this version for < f40 due to this issue https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/...anch/269778/15
        I also think it affects vulkan using wayland.

          Oh I'm good at reading comments, you're just bad at writing them. You made such a mess of those 3 terms, I felt I need to untangle that, should someone less knowledgeable want to read this thread.

            No, you are not good at it and your lack of reading comprehension is a problem for everyone, only not for you as you have now demonstrated with your ignorance.

              Last I knew there was mostly just one person doing the work on the nvidia drivers at RPMFusion. If you want to see it happen faster (and more reliably faster), you should go volunteer to assist. Then everyone wins.

                I tested this due to your commit and can confirm that under wayland the game hangs at the valve logo. x-org the game loads proper. 545.29.03 is supposed to fix this I guess.

                    Nouveau has historically never worked well for anything besides basic video output, anything serious always required using the NVidia blob. Largely the reason why people criticize the blob is due to FOSS reasons.

                    As mentioned before this may change with things like the shader compiler.

                      NVidia drivers certainly need improvements.
                      So good. But I've replaced my 2 decade long Nvidia journey with AMD now. And I am not going back to Nvidia before I've seen significant improvements.
