    VRR is the name of the HDMI standard (protocol?). Just like Adaptative Sync is for DisplayPort. Freesync is AMD's brand.

    It's a bit like HDMI CEC vs T-Link (ITT) HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync, VIERA Link (Panasonic) EasyLink (Philips) NetCommand for HDMI (Mitsubishi)...

    FreeSync is supported exclusively via DisplayPort. HDMI VRR is HDMI VRR.
