          sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers. And update they should be in those repos.i use that repo to get the latest nvidia drivers.

            390.48 does appear to fix the slowness issues I had with previous 390.xx versions on a 1080ti--windows move fast now and no stutter when videos start playing in Chromium.

            It doesn't, however, install cleanly to a 4.16 kernel. For 4.16.0-rc7, I had to apply a patch (I manually added the if/endif) as identified by user mlau in this forums posted on devtalk: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/t...map_sg_attrs-/

              Chromium sandbox bug is not fixed. The chromium bug implies that changes are needed in the chromium sandbox ,as simple as whitelisting some paths but it's not resolved yet so the fix is not imminent.

                Try -nosandbox or was it --no-sandbox as a temp solution until its fixed.
