    I am. I mean, I don't think they've actually shelved finished designs, but it's very likely in the absence of competition they only picked the low hanging fruits. If I was on Intel's board, I'd fire management that did anything else

      Yeah, I'm sure high end desktop parts were at 4-6 cores for like a decade because of coincidence, not because Intel wanted to keep shockingly high prices on higher core count parts.

      Seriously we are talking of a company that is employing RAID keys, fucking RAID hardware keys, costing 300$ to enable RAID1/5 or whatever on the NVM slots of their high end boards.
