Phoronix: Linux 4.0 Will Run Source Engine Games Faster For Intel Haswell

Last year I wrote about a major performance breakthrough discovered for Intel's Linux graphics driver. That small but important patch for benefiting Intel Haswell graphics performance will be found with the upcoming Linux 4.0 kernel release...

That's fine but the patch was so simple that it already is inside Ubuntu (and Kanotix) kernels for several weeks. But the improvement is not that Source is now fast as hell, but you can play it if you don't have got huge demands. But is of course nice to have it out of the box, could be added to stable kernel revisions as well.

Do you have a link to the patch where it was included in the Ubuntu kernel? I can't find it in either utopic or vivid. Thanks!

It was inside the git, maybe it was removed later. As Ubuntu rebases the kernel tree on a new release you can not find it anymore.
