Thanks. I re-read the results. What the article says for one of the tests is that because the game is old, there shouldn't be any impact from new features in OpenGL, and that's very likely the case, but I don't believe there is certainty about that, which sucks.

I feel like this is one of the issues with graphics benchmarking, currently. The test doesn't fail if there are missing features, it just runs faster. If one could at least have a flag to ask the demo to fail when any requested feature is missing, it would be easier to (1) track what features are really supported, and (2) compare apples to apples.

Minus 25% is nothing, we have 75% which is much better than nothing .

Not very interesting without the logs while in development phase. Its probably a bug or a minor regression which will be fixed before the final release of both any of the used parts that are all in development phase.

    Are these really regressions?

Is it possible that a newer mesa actually enabled features such as extra details in the graphics that make the rendering slower?

Phoronix: Updated Intel Graphics Stack On Ubuntu 14.04 Has Some Slowdowns

For those curious about the impact of running Intel "Haswell" HD Graphics 4600 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and then pulling in the latest Mesa 10.3-devel code followed by the Linux 3.15 kernel, it's not entirely a happy story if you are looking to maximize your Intel Linux graphics performance capabilities.
