been using 8.1 since it first leaked and now on the official preview.

whatever glitches/bugs there are I haven't been exposed to them and everything runs fine and smooth.

using the driver from windows update that seems to be dated to last october
(since intel decided that the official installer would no longer work even if you try to change the inf to recognize the system as win7)

      Nope, they won't.

All DE's, eh? So Enlightenment, XFCE, KDE, Gnome-Shell are all going to be using it? I can pretty much guarantee at least one of those won't be working.

2.99.901 seems OK so far with SNA on my GM45.

For old bugs like this, we can ask if anyone remembers something like it, but realistically we have to trawl through the list of known issues that were found by the validation and Windows driver teams and see if anything matches (and those are very terse descriptions with almost no explanation of the issue and often little detail as to the potential fix.) And no, I haven't found anything. At this moment in time, the only method I know that definitely works is to only let the GPU process one rectangle at a time.
                    Thanks for answering, Chris!

Serious (possibly stupid) question, is the license of a reverted patch still valid?
Or must it be treated as if it hasn't existed at all?

I guess the date should be 2013-09-07, but anyhow...

I tried using SNA for the first time a few days ago. Performance is overall *much* better, but sometimes there are some graphical glitches with text becoming stretched and slanted. Selecting the text or minimizing/maximizing the window will fix it.

Aside from those minor issues, SNA is great.
