    Phoronix: xf86-video-intel 2.9.0 Released, 2009Q3 Update

I find the way they handled the upgrade amateurish.
They rewrote whole sections of the kernel, xorg, and mesa.
Whether directly or as a result of their requirements.

How about some test results for Xorg 7.4 and 7.5
Say Ubuntu Intrepid IBex and Ubuntu 9.10 alpha 6 with latest updates.

Post some screen shots of image quality.

My own tests still show a loss in quality and speed.
Sure games like Unreal are playable but standard OpenGL throughput seems deminished.

Neverwinter Nights is a good example. I don't have much of a framerate change. It's a cpu intensive game.

    oh well

Meanwhile, the current version of Fedora, 11, still has xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.7.0-7. I wish the Fedora folks would do a better job of sharing the love.
