Does this thing work? The power management on my Mac is just astonishing. Even S3 sleep doesn't work on my HP zbook firefly (at least not out of the box). My Mac just seems to have battery forever.

Intel P-state with performance governor in combination with energy_perf_bias set to 0 and energy_performance_preference set to performance
Most of this can be done with the cpupower tool that is part of the kernel tools.
