In (funny) fact, current tests of many distributions can be found on the Internet, and the difference in games is +- 3 FPS between distributions. Surprisingly, Nobara cried and narrowly lost to everyone.

The other thing to look out for is the new windows virtualisation based security that they have now turned on by default.

Yes, even the UI design peaked there, after that it's the new style that reminds of CSS

Michael, any plans to do something similar for an iGPU comparison? You could just reuse some subset of your previous Linux results for tests that are available in Windows.

As mentioned in the article, there are already some Xe2 Windows vs. Linux benchmarks in the Xe2 article.

              Thanks for the benchmark.

Not surprising results here. Linux is more optimized on mostly anything.

Ps: Please put Ubuntu in orange to help differentiate.

Ps2: When a RadeonSi vs Radv + Zink updated bench ?

Fun fact: sometimes, when I start Visual Studio 2022, there's a brief lag where I can see the Vista-era window decorations for half a second.

Not surprising at all, Linux (I use Fedora currently) always runs like it is a higher grade hardware on the same computer compared to Windows 11. Thank you for demonstrating this to everyone, Michael!

100% bet this was done with Windows Defender left in-place with real-time scanning, and probably automatic Core Virtualization with IOMMU. Not sure how anyone tolerates the performance hit of those

And if you also want to balance it out: Ultimate Performance power profile on Windows, and x86_energy_perf_policy --all performance --turbo-enable 1 --force on Ubuntu. Take out the default usual inconsistent cruft and then compare em

Another noob that apparently hasn't heard of LTSB or LTSC
