In other news from Intel, in addition to them firing over 15,000 people this year into next (it’s going to be higher still) they have not only consolidated departments that alone were really not adding to Intel value, but Pat Gelsinger announced a plan to….

……spin out Intel’s foundry. Yep, they’re going to do an AMD. Global Foundries used to be AMDs foundry. Not certain yet what the spun out Intel foundry will be called. It was just a couple of years ago that all Pat could talk about was how great their foundry was and how all the world’s chips will be made on it that TMSC couldn’t handle. That was part of the reason they got millions of taxpayer dollars from the US government to make chips domestically instead of overseas like TMSC. Now…cough…cough….could you, Foundry, just step over there a bit..:.yeah…over there. Just a little bit more. Ok , that will do thank you very much.

At least the US government expressed recently that Intel is too big to fail as the Pentagon just shoveled a big fat contract to Intel to make their warfare chips for them. The Pentagon didn’t elaborate whether or not a stipulation for the contract was to be Intel had to use their Foundry. Which now is being spun out.

    Ahhhh….Intel Agonistes
