  • stuttering 3d and drm_wait_vblank error

    Hello,

    I have a ThinkPad T61 with the GM965 chipset and when I run an opengl application (ex: glxgears) the 3d movement is stuttering. I also get this message in the kernel log:

    Code:
    [drm:drm_wait_vblank] *ERROR* failed to acquire vblank counter, -22
    This machine:

    Code:
    $ Xorg -version
    X.Org X Server 1.6.1.901 (1.6.2 RC 1)
    Release Date: 2009-5-8
    X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0
    Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.30 i686
    Current Operating System: Linux owned 2.6.30 #1 SMP Wed Jun 24 19:04:27 PDT 2009 i686
    Build Date: 24 June 2009  07:21:31PM

    $ lspci | grep GM965
    00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
    xf86-video-intel and mesa are from GIT, built 06/24/09. The kernel is drm-intel from GIT, built 06/24/09.

    Has anyone else experienced this problem? Should I report a bug?

    Is your xf86-video-intel also from git? You should probably file a bug.

        Looks like it's not an uncommon problem:

        I didn't find any upstream bug reports about it, so it's probably worthwhile to file it:
