No one should buy a DG2 based Intel GPU especially if you are using Linux. Since Intel chose to burn those of us in the Linux community who purchased DG2 cards. I will not even consider Intel again. Screwing over whole communities on only your second gen product does not bode well for the future of the Arc gpus.
The new Xe driver is going to be DG3+ only?

Not if you need VM_BIND support.

The huc doens't work on xe driver. I tried to change "i915.enable_guc=2 to xe.enable_guc=2" in cmdline, but it doesn’t work. Is the HUC loaded and enabled on XE?...

not really, numerous other people are already using it on DG2, keep in mind that XE is not what is important here, what is important is VM_BIND that i915 isn't getting for a long time if at all

Yikes. Even more glad I returned my A770. An end state where one driver is better for gaming and another has all the encoding features enabled seems crazy.

Supposedly it's a third GPU that essentially doubles the hardware resources of the ACM-G11 from the A380. So it's the pro / compute version of the not released middle child A580.

That moment when you buy a GPU to be an AV1 transcoder only for the driver to be shot and left to die.
