Vulkan is supported... At least on Linux but I assume so on Windows too, just haven't tested or read any Windows tests.

How often do you see Nvidia or AMD post slides with Vulkan? Intel Arc GPUs will be at its best when running on DX12 and Vulkan. They’ve already mentioned this in all their announcements and interviews. DX9 will be emulated while DX11 performance will be crap.

As you mentioned DX is more important than Vulkan since Microsoft bought out practically all the Vulkan studios which are now using DX. Then made PC gaming cheaper with Game pass.

Obviously, gaming is a life or death situation for Microsoft, so they do everything in their power to make sure no alternative open API can exist for 3D graphics. Let's not kid ourselves, Windows are first and foremost a gaming operating system. Without gaming, the whole world would have moved to GNU/Linux decades ago. Sadly, most enthusiasts who are the people most likely to try new OSes are first and foremost gamers and gaming is the most hardware intensive thing they do on their PCs, so as along as gaming is not 100% perfect on Linux, the Linux will always remain a niche OS on desktop/laptop. Game developers don't have any real incentives for using Vulkan, especially when Microsoft arrives with a bag of cash, so....
