I have MESA22 installed and Clover doesn't have image support. Saying it could have it some day is no different from AMD saying their drivers may have it some day.

buying AMD is like a constant kick in the nuts, you buy it for great open source support on linux, only to find out that it is only half true. I understand that AMD is understaffed, but issues with things like AMF, compute, raytracing, lack of a good official control and information panel (I shouldn't need to use UMR to find out encode usage) so on and so forth are making it extremely hard for me to buy an AMD gpu for my next card. im hoping Intel's gpus are semi decent. at this point I am seriously considering nvidia if they aren't.
