Phoronix: Intel Async Page-Flipping Support Revised For Benefiting Skylake Graphics And Newer

Over the past several months there has been work on Intel's Linux kernel graphics driver for async page-flipping to yield better performance. That work was revised against today for hopefully making it into a kernel release in the near future albeit too late for Linux 5.9 but regardless nice to see this work moving forward...

Again it's really baffling that this relatively simply optimization is only introduced now. Particularly because it saves fill rate and memory bandwidth, which are always in short supply on iGPUs. Proper page flipping support has existed on AMD GPUs since... forever basically. Looking forward to it.

I wonder if this will be beneficial against weird regular stutter (e.g. in mpv, but probably everywhere) with modesetting DDX and Wayland.
Though I don't expect anything, my report for custom EDID not working is just left behind rotting. Oh, just like my report for the issue above as well...
