Phoronix: Linux 5.4 To Allow Adjusting Intel TCC Thermal Activation Offset For Better Performance

In addition to adding Intel Icelake support to the kernel's processor thermal / int340x code, there is an interesting change with the thermal management updates for Linux 5.4 to potentially boost the performance on Intel platforms...

Great, but I'd rather use a good cooler than risking burning my processor.

That's great, some devices have pretty low thermal limits, probably to limit the overall heating and case temperature of the device. If you are fine with slightly increased case temperature, it should be fine to adjust the TCC limit upwards.

E.g. some XPS 13 versions have the limit set to 80 °C, while the chip itself is spec'd to work up to 90 or 95 °C.

        Way to go!

Even ThrottleStop on Windows can't do this.
