Are you sure the "graphics max freq" is in MHz?

      PCWorld ran some benchmarks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7wmXQYnbCs

The integrated graphics is slower than the slowest mobile Pascal GPU, the MX 150 That's a bummer but at least you won't have to deal with NVIDIA proprietary drivers and all sorts of hell related to Optimus (which works great under Windows but totally sucks under Linux).

Of course, not. Michael copied the Intel graph while someone at Intel had made a mistake. If you're not a clinical idiot, you'll realize it's in GHz.

"Launches" is doing a lot of work in the headline.

AnandTech article shows this is a very flawed product, with some good aspects (AVX-512) and some highly concerning ones (far lower base, all-core turbo, single-core turbo clocks compared to Whiskey Lake), and the 28W SKU requires special binning, proving that Intel's 10nm might be able to manufacture working dies now, but they have a clock limit far below 14nm (sure, 14nm is optimised to bits, but even so).

Turbo does not matter, performance does. And IceLake in most cases is either a lot faster than Whisky Lake or matches it (in rare cases it loses to it by a small margin).

It's because Intel doesn't know how to make 10nm chips at scale, MUCH LESS 7nm. They have been outright LYING about this fact for 4 years now. Now EVERYONE is looking at AMD a LOT more from EPYC on down to Ryzen for cloud, server, HPC and even laptops and Chromebooks as an alternative.

Intel is in DEEP doo-doo. They're out of the mobile market. They're out of the modem market...(just sold their 5G modem department to Apple). Itaniums dead. Knights Landing is dead. They're not in the video game console market. And they have been VERY incrementally improving their 14 nm chips and charging WAY more for that crappy improvement.

Now....OEMs and ODM's and big players like Google are wising up. Intel is a fraud. Rank liers. It coming back to haunt them.

The state of mobile CPUs in general is pretty sad. Things have stagnated for a long time, and it feels like there's no point in upgrading.

                These base clocks are disappointing...

This isn't just a low-power models being released early because they are high profit, these are really low clock-speeds.

And with this figuring out the order of architectures is a headache. Icelake is the original successor to cannonlake, but cannonlake never materialized fully, and whiskey-lake is a now even more modified Skylake, or a separate branch or architectures now?

The reason it feels that way is because it is that way. There is no point in upgrading.
Oh, and it's not just the mobile CPUs, it also applies for desktop CPUs which have also stagnated.
