For legacy platforms, Beignet exposes OpenCL 1.2 because of HW limitations.

AdamCetnerowski Cool, but is Beignet supporting everything the hardware can? For example, Ivybridge could support OpenCL 2.1 but you only get 2.0 from Beignet

Beignet continues to be available - it just will not be developed by Intel. So for older platforms (prior to Broadwell), it's still the solution. For newer platforms (Broadwell+), we recommend using NEO.

Does Beignet support older hardware than NEO? If so, deprecating it wouldn't leave older Intel without OpenCL support?

Phoronix: Intel's Coffeelake OpenCL Performance Between Beignet & Their Modern NEO Driver

A few days back I posted a number of Intel OpenCL benchmarks between their former Beignet and new "NEO" Linux compute stacks that was done using a Skylake NUC for the Iris Pro 580 graphics. For those wondering how these two open-source Intel OpenCL implementations compare for the more common UHD Graphics 630, here are some benchmarks using an Intel Core i9 8700K "Coffeelake" processor...
