The "industry" you speak knows exactly where it would like to go.

NVidia would like to keep everyone using CUDA with their hardware and only their hardware.

Intel is moving in a less captive approach with OpenCL.

Intel's code word is hilarious because many people (like Intel) would consider NVidia as insidious as the Matrix, and Intel sees themselves as the upstart with a vision, NEO.

Everyone in AI and grid compute that I talk to don't even think AMD, doesn't even come up in the conversation.

The meetings tend to get emotional, people who like the lock in with NVidia/CUDA for its dev support versus the people who want flexbility and use OpenCL against any compute infrastructure.

If you are adding that to your list, it'd be interesting to see how the ROCm stuff goes with an APU in comparison.

maybe if you are feeling keen - a battle of the integrated opencl could be fun if you have access to some ARM SBCs and their associated OpenCL Stacks.

or even a "State of the Compute" style article - I for one am a little confused on all the components in play... ROCm/NEO/CUDA and then SYCL / POCL. It's be nice for a "This is where the industry is going" article.
