What's the package ecosystem like? I guess you don't have the breadth that something like AUR offers? If you use flatpak or similar, these miss out on any perf advantages as well?

Right now its is limited.

Intel prefers a bundle approach to maintain consistency with their release cadence. This makes sense for an OS built strictly for cloud use.

But they will have to update their objectives and tools if they want to reach a broader ecosystem beyond cloud.

If they can keep up the performance gains while adding the new front end, it will resonate with more early adopters.

It's about time. While a more robust and modern looking GUI would be preferable, it should not be a requirement to use commands to do an install. Simple visual cues go a long way.
