Well .. I cannot imagine restricting myself to virt-manager and gnome boxes since every professional work environment is heterogeneous. For my pure Linux home environment I wouldn't use VirtualBox either. Few years ago kvm appeard to be slightly better performing - don't know how it is these days tho.

Cool, here where I live "virtualization" is a synonymous of VMWare.
Virtualbox has 0 penetration.

Doesnt work on wayland even thought its Qt based. Crashes on start. Fail.

Hopefully this will fix my VMs which broke when I upgraded the host from Ubuntu 1704 to Kubuntu 1710 and the VM from Mate 1704 to 1710.

Well, it didn't fix it. But to be fair the issue doesn't seem to be related to upgrading VBox or the host VM, it happens when upgrading the client VM from Mate 1704 to 1710.
