Lol... Infinity Fabric is nothing more than a proprietary extension to PCI express with too much marketing added to it. You don't even understand the difference between the physical layer implemented by EMIB and an addon to PCIe.

Ahem, using the same ser/des of PCIe does not make Infinity Fabric a PCIe extension, the protocol is different.

Amd already sells dedicated Gpus for laptops and desktops, this does only changes the packaging. For people that are negative to that, you would make sense if Amd had only Apus and not anything that helps anyone else. Amd is not that brave and that's a business choice to avoid retaliation and that's why Nvidia can say no to Intel (and Amd taking their place). If Amd's products become better than the competition in the future, we may see a change on tactics. At least now we know why this generation of dGpus didn't even came.

NVIDIA would say no to anything that isn't 100% NVIDIA. It's a cultural thing, just like having a CEO wearing a leather jacket.

Does anyone remember the days when Intel had an Arm licence and made the PXA SoCs, with the ATI Imageon W100 GPU?

Hopefully this will help Linux support for (future) laptops, both AMD and Intel contributing can't be a bad thing for Linux.

I wonder how hard Microsoft and Sony screwed AMD down in price in order for AMD to get their chips into the Xbox and PS4?

I wonder if MS and Sony helped bring AMD and Intel together to make this chip?

What would have been the alternative for Xbox/PS4? Do note that especially Sony had a lot of say in PS4 APU capabilities, and it was in many ways more advanced that discrete GPUs from AMD at the time.

Only thing left for AMD to do is - Release an ARM A75 80 Core part with Radeon graphics and it's complete.
