Seems like Intel started loving the "Glue" LOL but great for FOSS

I guess the HBM will be on the graphics chip?

Why AMD, why? Couldn't you wait to see how Ryzen Mobile sells first? If Intel is not that greedy, this will tank your APU....

AMD anoucement AMD Delivers Semi-Custom Graphics Chip For New Intel Processor

            SUNNYVALE, Calif. 11/6/2017
AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) today announced that it designed a semi-custom graphics processor unit (GPU) that will be integrated into a new Intel multi-chip processor package. The new product, designed by Intel, integrates an Intel® Core™ processor, semi-custom Radeon™ graphics chip, and second generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2) into a single package.

Why didn't Intel just put some resources on beefing up their own GPU?

Intel haven't done shit with their GPU since the days of Haswell.
Four generation later and its still the same GPU with just minor tweaks.

Tied beside it - the left side of the package mockup image would be HBM:AMD GPU. I wonder how the HBM could be used, if it'll be GPU only, or how the CPU will have access.

If this sells they probably will do just that. chip design is VERY costly and time consuming so doing it this way probably shaves years of time to market.
This can not been an easy decision for Intel but really shows that they wanted to make the best chip possible.

Ryzen mobile will take Intel where it hurts:
Below 30w TDP market, this chip is a high TDP to steal High power laptop computing from Nvidia, and Intel is more than happy to help with that.
Intel is not happy about Ryzen Mobile i'd think but Intel hates Nvidia, Amd is almost ok with Nvidia but they're competing.
