I feel that this patch shows lower values than the bios, for example the idle temp is 30 C according to k10temp-pci-00c3 but when you boot to the bios it shows 42 C. Ryzen 5 1600 is my cpu.

This is normal. It's because some energy saving features aren't enabled while inside the BIOS interface. It's not just Zen either. Most CPU's are like this as far as I know.

Actually, yes, you can get per core temp monitoring under Windows, at least on Ryzen. Not entirely sure about Threadripper, but why would it be any different from Ryzen?

Ryzen Master on windows shows on idle 42.

Ideally you shouldn't compile the whole kernel in this case, just the temp module. I'd suspect it crashed due to lack of skills in general, not due to this specific temp driver.
