I wonder if this Pro line will support ECC memory? The Epyc lineup so far looks server focused with server level TDP's, not something you'd use in a workstation. Or maybe the PRO moniker only implies management features, as competition with intel's vPro for business?

All Ryzen CPUs support ECC. It depends on the mobo manufacturer to implement it, so far only ASRock and Biostar officially support ECC.

Thanks, first time I'd heard of this, so after some more digging, I came across this:

It looks like "supported" is kind of a gray area for Ryzen. Seems the chip has the capability, but AMD does not officially support it or test it. The mobo vendor can add the BIOS feature if they wish, but most won't. Ok, so AMD must have an unannounced workstation Epyc chip in the queue somewhere for future release. Epyc 5 and Epyc 3 perhaps?

The AMD Workstation/HEDT chip is called Threadripper and will launch soon™. It will also have official ECC support from AMD. However, quantities are so limited that you can only buy Threadripper PCs from Dell/Alienware in 2017.

Boutique builders can sell Threadripper and the CPUs should be widely available in stores. Dell did an exclusive deal for the large builders, that's all.
