    Qualcomm Snapdragon, Samsung Exynos, MediaTek, HiSilicon Kirin, which has the best support in the mainline Linux kernel?

      The Kirin 620 has great support due to Linaro and Huawei's collaboration. Samsung Exynos is in good shape because of Tizen. The Kirin 960 will have great support but it's not there yet. Qualcomm is and probably always will be off the proprietary land. Mediatek is MIA as well. Hopefully they improve on this front and have more foresight.

        Now if we could only buy ARM based PC Systems. The few single board computers out there are nice but they aren't systems and frankly most people buy systems not boards.

          This is possible very soon. What kind of ARM system would you want? We can probably make it.

            I'm looking for cheep fanless NAS solution two SATAs and 100MB LAN should be enough

              100MB LAN on a NAS is bullshit.
              Besides, the thing that needs a fan in the NAS are the hard drives, even if the processor itself can go fanless.

                Something that could be used for PC-like systems. PCIe slots, many PCIE slots.

                  Honestly, just something that looks mores like a normal Mini-ITX system would be nice. You know it has an Ethernet NIC attached to a bus rather then via USB, runs on an internal PSU, and has a 8x+ PCIe slot.

                  Some board I like the moment:
                  * Supermicro X11SSV-M4 (https://www.supermicro.com/products/.../X11SSV-M4.cfm)
                  * PC Engines APU2C4 (http://www.pcengines.ch/apu2.htm)

                  For some unsolicited, blue sky configs...

                  Low end:
                  Mini-ITX form factor or less
                  4x 64bit cores
                  8GB ECC RAM
                  2x SATA3
                  8x PCIe (Optional)
                  1x HDMI
                  1x 1G Ethernet
                  4x USB 2
                  1x Serial port

                  High end:
                  Mini-ITX form factor
                  4x 64bit OOO superscaler cores
                  16GB socketable RAM (ECC supported)
                  4x SATA3 (2x DOM support)
                  1x M.2
                  16x PCIe
                  3x Displayport
                  2x 10G Ethernet
                  2x USB 2
                  4x USB 3
                  1x PS/2
                  1x Serial port

                  Misc:
                  Cellmodem
                  Bluetooth
                  Wireless via MiniPCIe

                    100 MB is pretty close to 1G Ethernet. 800Mb == 100 MB, and 1000Mb == 125 MB.
