    I'm guessing NVIDIA's version of this will only work with their super expensive enterprise GPUs?

      Sadly, most likely. It is time for AMD to push it forward.

        They have special GRID GPUs just for this http://www.nvidia.com/object/grid-technology.html
        So even Quatros will likely not support this.

          ... Greatly depends on what both Intel and AMD will do.

          My guess is:
          Short term. Yes.
          Long(er) term, it will most likely get pushed to Quadro devices.
          Long term, across the board.
