Yep! Good for SSH, VIM, basic web browsing, movie watching, etc. Battery life is 4-6 hours with CPU governor set to 'powersave' (also keeps it fairly cool) so it's enough for travelling but you really get to feel just how slow that CPU is by modern standards, not to mention how weak the GPU is. Since it fits that particular use case (barely) I have no need to replace it just yet.

I had a Atom third gen I think ( n455, singlecore, hyperthreading, GMA3150, 64bit), which wasn't that bad, but first gens... that's stuff legends are made of.

Heh i actually used my atom laptop as a heater a lot! In fact the bottom is blackened

Still using a 1st gen. Atom based netbook. It may be low spec but with LXQt it's actually pretty usable. In fact, my biggest complaint is that even my phone has a higher resolution display.

They are now called Celeron and Pentium. Those J and N models are based on Atom microarchitectures.
