    Did you run into any TSX/HLE related issues? (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...KL-Latest-Woes)

      Rodinia v2.4 OpenMP CFD Solver benchmark with input file missile.domn.0.2M is broken. See the benchmark's output below.

      I strongly suggest PTS to use a different input file.

      $ head ~/.phoronix-test-suite/installed-tests/pts/rodinia-1.2.2/rodinia_2.4/openmp/cfd/momentum

        Michael Idea, as testing only the decoder alone is not really a "real" usecase, maybe try something like that: HEVC Main 10: http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=46 mpv build from git master with ffmpeg master, i usually just build it as deb following: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv-bu...ian-and-ubuntu Then play the file like:
        Code:
        mpv --fs --vd-lavc-threads=16 Astra.SES.Demo.HEVC.ts
        For HEVC 8 Bit or H264 (4k) you could add "--hwdev vaapi" for intel. Best would be testing a GTX 950/960 card with "--hwdec vdpau". In case of hwdec do not use the "--vd-lavc-threads" override. I had less dropped frames with 16 theads for i7 and i5 cpus, i7 usually performed better - but you need a really high frequency to get 0 dropped frames (none of my current cpus can handle it) - and thats just a file with 22.8 Mbps average bitrate! Ultra BluRay can use up to 82 Mbps with standard 50 GB media and even 128 Mbps with a 100 GB media - you really want a hardware decoder for thoses movies. The 22 Mbps average video however seems to use a "normal" streaming/tv bitrate, so if you want to check if you could watch live tv this should be enough to test.

          Is it possible for this processor to be overclocked via the bclk? I can't seem to find any reviews site other than this that has reviewed a skylake non-k cpu so I'm hoping to find some answers

            I compared with my CPUs - http://openbenchmarking.org/result/1...KH-1511181KH64

            I wonder how i5 6500 would compare to i7 6700? The i7 has bit more cash, bit higher turbo frequency and hyperthreading. The price is almost double. Some Windows based benchmarks give 10-20% better result than i5 6500. Is it worth to upgrade to that i7 or just pick cheaper i5?
