    It's also the one the LLVM teams have targeted as their priority for OpenMP, so pre-existing 3.x is not in the cards.

      Not necessarily a bad thing if OpenMP 4 doesn't support all of OpenMP3. Just give it a clean slate, no legacy cruft to have to support or work around.
