Last week with the launch of the Intel Xeon 6900P "Granite Rapids" processors, Intel didn't disclose their list prices... Today they added the Granite Rapids list prices to their ARK database. With Granite Rapids making Intel much more competitive to the AMD EPYC competition and over prior generation Xeon CPUs, these new processors are commanding a higher price tag with the Xeon 6980P topping out at $17,800 USD...

If I bought a 6900P, would I have any question to handling any video game in existence?

I'm sure this has more practical usage with VMs and large-scale, but I wonder what a general user could do with that? I'd immediately go to Windows Task Manager just to see what 128 cores looks like there (assuming it even knows how to boot with all that)

While it could play any game in existence, it wouldn't be the fastest at them for single thread parts of the game. Big processors like this only have clock rates at the 2Ghz to end of the 3Ghz whereas some consumer chips can clock up to 6Ghz for single thread applications. One thing is for sure, even if gaming on Windows you wouldn't have to worry about your anti virus stealing CPU power from your game...
