    I still think it would be neat if we could get some current gen consumer platforms with a bunch of efficiency cores at a reasonable price. Like the 32 core version of this or an Intel option with 32 E cores from the Lunar Lake / Arrow Lake gen.

      I have a hard time understanding what even the lowest-end model would be useful for where the compute power of a GPU wouldn't be more appropriate. I'm not saying these aren't good products, but I just can't think of any markets where they're needed.

        Embedded but very powerful machines. Like ones deployed by telcos, possibly virtualized. You cannot use a GPU to run your software stack.

          But what are the workloads that are so demanding? Modern virtualization instructions really minimize the load on a CPU.
          Not sure what you mean about the GPU. I never said or implied the GPU would be the only thing doing work.
