The new microcode tripled my boot time.

AMD themselves announced the latest mitigations in June-ish for only November or December or so. I also don't think I have seen any microcode updated for 7950x yet, but I would need to double check.

I have the Asus x670e hero and bios 1709 seems to contain updated microcode. After updating I no longer saw no microcode next to safe RET in mitigations

Only if a BIOS vendor ships newer microcode, which currently I don't think there is any newer Ryzen 7000 microcode out there. I wonder how cryptographically signed they are and if you can load Epyc or Threadripper ┬Ácode on consumer Ryzen. But I woudl be very surprised if that just worked.
