This makes sense. Unmaintained and probably not very wide usage at this point. These h8300 go back a few decades, it seems.

We have an epidemic of people who are too drop-happy and they would (if they could) get rid of pretty much anything besides ARM and x86-64, which is grotesquely greedy and self-serving. If that's your caustic attitude go buy an Apple. They will be happy to cut you off after 3 years.

Meh, the greediest and most self-serving ones are those who expect someone else to maintain it but are not willing to put the work nor fund it. For this kind of maintenance you could have a single person working full time to make sure _several_ archs remained working. But that means we (the community) need to put in some money so that person can, you know, eat, buy nice things and buy the hardware to test stuff on. A community is based on reciprocal solidarity, not on the expectation of free labour, let alone the delusion that companies will do things for us that they can't really profit from, this stuff is by the community for the community or it simply doesn't happen.

In an ideal world we would all buy transmeta CPU´S with a VLIW technology and would just need software updates to run CISC RISC or whatever code, but that did not happen
