And yes its true that Russia is "multi-ethnic" but that is also misleading because its one of the most segregated places in the world. What that means is that the people living in the ethnic areas pretty much stay there and there is very literal inter-mixing between the ethnicities.

This in stark contrast to other truly multicultural countries like Australia, Canada or USA (albeit they are not doing so well)
Chechen wars have finished before Putin were elected as President or even put in position of Prime Minister.
You also miss the historical side of multi-ethic and multi-cultural Russian Federation - the ethnicities are not segregated but rather live in places were these ethnicities were formed. This is very unlike countiries which were colonised but by migrations. If you look at large Russian or even any other post USSR cities were are very little segregation. So it is like this not due some malicious intent more like historical process. You not surprised that there more polish people in Poland or french in France?

Not true. Russia has certainly ejected journalists for simply doing their job:

And with the new media censorship law, foreign news agencies are shutting down operations and withdrawing their staff from Russia. Whether they're kicked out or simply barred from doing their job, it basically amounts to the same thing.

Because it's propaganda, not proper journalism.

Does the name Anna Politkovskaya mean anything to you? It should:

That's ridiculous. Like Tonga or Antigua are really going to impose sanctions on Russia? Think about what you're saying!

A lot of countries are either too small, don't have much dealings with Russia, or don't have the means to impose sanctions like the big, developed countries do. The ones imposing the sanctions are most of those that matter.

Yes thats what I mean, apart from St Petersberg/Moscow (which a lot of Russian's argue aren't real Russia), the rest of the continent is extremely segregated and not mixed at all. A lot of places are only even part of Russia because of Ivan "the terrible" just expanding east at all costs so its not really surprising there is almost no integration.

They're also not allowed to say that Russia is "invading" Ukraine.

Chechnya was happily independent, until Putin went in and bombed it to shit. That will definitely provoke some backlash. Expect similar tactics from Ukrainians, for years to come.

I think you entirely missed the point. Is it even a segragation if ethnicity have been living in some area even before this territory have been included into Russian Empire? Which ethnicity is being segregated? Are we even talking about that Racial segregation - Wikipedia? If we're please provide actual examples since I do not know of any. And yeah I know that Jew were segregated in Russian Empire but that is hardly actual example and at the time period they were segregated almost everywhere.

No, the USA doesn't, because nearly everyone came here from somewhere else. It's funny how you have to go back centuries to find insults. A lot of the people living here now didn't have any ancestors here, when half of the US had slavery and during the colonial era.

Russia treats blacks far worse than the US does, from what I heard. And one person I heard this from is a Russian guy.

Sure, the US has some problems with racial equity and discrimination, but you know that because we talk about it. Also, there's good evidence that Russian internet trolls have actually been trying to stoke interracial tensions. No thanks for that.

I hope you will be happy to know that it is exactly Chechen's special forces are now leading the siege of some Ukrainian cities. "Similar tactics".... some times it is better to stop talking.

LOL. And you know this because your incredibly trustworthy media tells you so?
