After talking about Elkhart Lake for months in terms of the Linux patches bringing up this next-generation Intel processor, Intel is announcing it today in the form of the Atom x6000E series. Additionally, following the recent Tiger Lake client processor launch, 11th Gen Core Tigerlake-UP3 has also been announced.

OMG there's turbo-boost on a modern CPU? Clearly nobody else in the industry does this at all and Intel is stupid. In the meantime, even console chips from "perfect" TSMC are being binned in exactly the same way these days.

There needs to be a dumbass option for flagging comments by people who clearly fit the definition.

As well, there needs to be a way to flag obvious fanbois (of which you are one for Intel).

True there is turbo-boost everywhere but those hit the "up to" only in very special perfect corner cases.

eg Thermal-velocity boost + turbo boost ...gives you the 5.0 ghz on a xeon 2286 only if it is freezing cold in your room and you have deactivated all your background task which might lure your cpu to use more than one core at once.

My cars max speed is "up to" 250km/h but only downhill with tailwind. Should it now be advertised as such? or is 220 km/h more reasonable to say. Considering no wind on a even flat street ?

So, coming back to the topic at hand, does anybody know if those new Atoms are from a completely different family architecture, or are just bottom of the barrel Core chips rebranded as Atoms?

I ask because AMD choose to abandon having different architectures (like Jaguar's on the AM1socket), and just offer defective chips at lower prices, instead of having the trouble to make something knew and optimised for the low end.
