    Why even argue about tubo boost for an unlocked CPU? If you don't want to mess with clocks and voltages, you can just enable PBO. There are countless articles on how to do it.

    You can check ark.
    Ok, they call the 7700k kaby lake, but no one ever proved any difference at all from skylake, it is the same core (maybe improved mem controller or IO)
    There's more
    2500K (3.3-3.7GHz) -> 2550K (3.4-3.8GHz)
    2600K (3.4-3.8GHz) -> 2700K (3.5-3.9GHz)
    4670K (3.4-3.8GHz) -> 4690K (3.5-3.9GHz)
    4770K (3.5-3.9GHz) -> 4790K (4.0-4.4GHz)

    Maybe they were just trying to come up with some new product to help drive B550 motherboard sales?

Before corona I was able to get one for around 100$ but now ....nothing maybe some low tier ryzen pro but no athlon 200ge, 300ge 3000g or anything which is an APU with TDP of 35W and PRO.
    There aren't many left, but I used to get hard to find OEM CPU's at the Computer Renaissance chain. Even if they didn't have a tray on hand they used to call around to see who did.

    I don't see many of these franchises left anymore so its hard to say. I also used Equus many moons ago for rare Xeon's, but I am not sure if they will do that on a 1 per basis anymore. They prefer large orders.

    I mean, I think it's fine. You can even market the lower bins of the new design as the old SKU. Seems to make sense to me. What I'd like to see is first-party voltage/frequency bins, I would gladly pay the premium in some cases.

    I guess this is nice for people like me, who can't be bothered with all the tinkering and testing associated with manual overclocking.

    The Renoir line is coming in a couple months. That means 4, 6 and 8 cores APUs. They should be basically the laptop line with higher TPDs. Personally, I'm eyeing the 6 core one.
