Google Engineers Have Been Working On An AMD SB-TSI Temperature Driver
The kernel itself it fine technically. It's the process that is not a good fit. The release cycles are too slow. There is not a good process to get new features into stable kernels. Pretty much all distros define their own stable kernels. Etc.
Well,... The bigger thing is, the longer/slower processes there are. It's just the way things work. Or, sacrifice quality checks, but... So, I don't think there's a sane way to make it faster, except by having GPU drivers delivered separately.
