It's as if no one at AMD even tried booting the thing under Linux. I mean, that's just weird - sends a bad message for Linux users (perhaps undeservingly so, but there you go...)

Say what you will about Intel's 14nm++++^10 cpu's, but at least they QA and patch them before release. It's almost like AMD thinks high performance compute runs on Windows. Fucking stupid asses need to rebuild their German/US QA software team. This horse shit can not continue.

Does not make it ok. Especially if you want to be taken seriously. Intel has their problems, but this is not one of them.

Agreed 100%. I'm really hoping that the money AMD is making on Epyc gets invested into improving their software and Q&A, because right now they're really struggling in those areas. It'll probably be a couple years before it can get turned around, unfortunately, even if they started now.

Then again, Intel tends to spend the next few years after that release patching all the security holes as well. There's always a trade-off.

Well this horse shit has been going on for years. Unfortunately, everyone's on the Ryzen hype train, and no one's stopping to look at actual software support.

AMD doesn't care about *nix support, and that's going to bite them in the ass.

IMO they got better. There has to be some limitations because this happens for most Wireless firmware. It's common. Of course. Intel got ready. But it seem they have bigger problems. Like security and performance issues. AMD firmware for example gets better,stable. Intel flaws will be there forever.
