Personally, I think the efforts from MS are just as likely to onboard Epyc for use Azure. The fact Windows desktops do better is a bonus as well.

Windows would have performed better if Michael configured the test in a sensible way.
It should use GCC both on Windows and Linux. Then, I think, Windows would look even better.

The reason isn’t GCC having better optimizer but many of the applications used has a code path which is optimized to GCC.
