Phoronix: Linux 5.3 Kernel Yielding The Best Performance Yet For AMD EPYC "Rome" CPU Performance

Among many different Linux/open-source benchmarks being worked on for the AMD EPYC "Rome" processors now that our initial launch benchmarks are out of the way are Linux distribution comparisons, checking out the BSD compatibility, and more. Some tests I wrapped up this weekend were seeing how recent Linux kernel releases perform on the AMD EPYC 7742 64-core / 128-thread processors...

Gave Firefox on mobile a try today, and I noticed the PTS graphs are zoomed in in Firefox (I have to scroll left and right to see them), but they are zoomed out in Chrome (I can see the whole graph, but to see the smaller text I have to zoom in).

Is this expected behaviour? Because I prefer the Chrome way - zoomed out graphs, so you can see the overall context better.

On-topic: EPYC Rome truly is awesome, nice to see its Linux support maturing already

Hmm? Haven't tried Firefox on mobile in a while but on desktop it's zoomed out like Chrome and the expected default. It's all pure SVG so must just be how Firefox mobile handles it.

I didn't know the graphs worked properly in Chrome, I figured the site was just a bit broken on mobile. Noticed that for a while though.

          Just reported it at https://webcompat.com/issues/38098

Seems like it according to the leaks.

This might be expected behavior due to the function of mobile browsers being that they try to guess the significance of content and try to zoom every element on page adaptively. This causes similar elements having different scale. I remember seeing it on news.ycombinator and I forgot how it is called since I researched it but it can be disabled. For me it looked like the scale of comments was oddly depent on their depth in the comment tree.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/qu.../962979?page=4 - solution to this question might disable it IIRC.

Also, this might be related: https://jwir3.wordpress.com/2012/07/...ennec-and-you/ It seems to be the function I try to remeber.

                    See below

Negative, I reported this to webcompat and they located the issue - it appears that the website openbenchmarking.org is doing a user agent sniff and sending Firefox bad SVG code.

Of course, you should have known this as it was discovered four years ago and directly reported to you, twice, and then a third time on this very forum, where you ignored them.
